Excitement is building once again at Killeen Castle as it has been officially confirmed as the host venue for the 2026 HotelPlanner Irish Challenge, part of the prestigious Road to Mallorca series on the HotelPlanner Tour.
The HotelPlanner Tour today unveiled its global schedule for the 2026 season, featuring 28 tournaments across 19 countries and a total prize fund of €9 million — matching last year’s record figure. The Irish Challenge, event number 20 on the schedule, will return to Killeen Castle from 13th to 16th August 2026, taking place at a pivotal point in the season.
A Global Stage for Rising Talent
The 2026 season will begin in South Africa with the SDC Open at Zebula Golf Estate & Spa — the first of four events co-sanctioned with the Sunshine Tour. The Tour will then travel across continents, including a stop in the United Arab Emirates for the Abu Dhabi Challenge and RAKBANK UAE Challenge in April, before heading back to Ireland for one of the most anticipated tournaments on the schedule.
A Championship Course Fit for the Challenge
Following the huge success of last year’s event, Killeen Castle’s Jack Nicklaus Signature Design Golf Course will once again provide a true test of precision, strategy, and skill. Players voted the venue a favorite in 2025, praising its exceptional practice facilities, dining, and welcoming atmosphere.
Building on this success, further course enhancements are already underway to ensure the 2026 edition lives up to the high standards expected of the Irish Challenge and delivers another unforgettable experience for players and spectators alike.
